Terminal 4 opened in the 1980s and has gone through subsequent overhauls in the years since. In 2008, more than £200 million was invested to boost capacity, improve security and reduce traffic. The piers and departure lounges were also improved at this time, and a new premium passenger lounge opened.

Upon entering the Terminal, passengers can check in on Level 2. Ticketing desks area spread across the main floor area, along with a couple of basic shops and a café. At this level, any queries are best directed to the relevant airport ticketing desks. Information kiosks can be found past the security checkpoint in the Departures Lounge as well as in the Arrivals Hall.

  • Telephones
  • Internet facilities (including dedicated terminals and free Wi-Fi)
  • Post box

From Level 2 of this Terminal, it is also possible to check into two of the major airport hotels that serve Heathrow: the Hilton and Yotel. Passengers will a much more comprehensive spread of services – including premium lounges, praying rooms and family facilities.
